Williene Geyer Mullis

Williene Geyer Mullis, 87 of Columbus died Friday, November 18, 2011 at Doctor’s Hospital.

Graveside services will be held 3:00 P.M., Tuesday, November 22, 2011 in Riverdale Cemetery with Rev. Mike Stewart officiating. The family will receive friends following service at the cemetery, according to McMullen Funeral Home, 3874 Gentian Blvd., Columbus, GA.

Mrs. Mullis was born July 1, 1924 in Roanoke, AL daughter of the late Marie Hudson Geyer and Albert Geyer.

Mrs. Mullis met her beloved husband “Flinky” before WWII and was married to him for 59 years. During the war she served as a USO girl and during their long life together, they traveled the world extensively. As a caring and supportive mother and friend, there are relationships that span the decades. Among her hobbies were bridge, needle point, painting and the restoration of antique furniture.

She was preceded in death by her husband Reuben Flournoy Mullis, brother, Albert Geyer, Jr. and sister, Cornelia C. Hebson.

Survivors include her daughters, Tracy M. Reynolds (Gregory) of Hurtsboro, AL and Kimberly M. Carr of Columbus, GA; brother, Jack Dalton Geyer (Nancy) of Gainesville, GA and grandchildren, Melissa Reynolds, Joshua Reynolds and Lauren Reynolds and several nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105
