The City of Griffin and Spalding County asks all citizens to please join us in welcoming home Corporal Tony Mullis of Hawkinsville, as he travels through Spalding County on his way home. Corporal Mullis was injured during this tour of duty in Afghanistan, where he lost both legs. He has been receiving physical therapy at Walter Reed Hospital in Washington and now is making his first trip home.
Twenty-three year old Mullis will be welcomed by his hometown of Hawkinsville with a parade and will be home for the first time to visit his newborn daughter, born the day of his injuries.
Corporal Tony Mullis is due to travel on I-75, Saturday, September 3rd at about 9:30-9:45 a.m. Let’s show him our thanks from Spalding County by lining I-75 with our spirit and our flags!
