Mr. Theron Douglas Mullis, Sr., 75, went to be with his Lord praising His Name Wednesday evening (August 26, 2015) at his residence in Atkinson after an extended illness.
A self-employed contractor and native of Wayne County, Theron was a member of Grace Chapel Ministries and Brunswick Carpenter Union. For all time, he will be remembered as a loving and devoted husband and father.
He is the son of the late Lee Roy Mullis and Tennie Denison Mullis. He is preceded in death by one sister, Eleanor Mullis Lariscy; and a granddaughter, Piper Jacobs.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 35 years, Joy Allison Dean Mullis of Atkinson; 8 children, Teresa Ann Mullis Crosby (Wayne) of Screven, Victor Theron Mullis of Screven, Tonya D. Mullis Clark (David) of Griffin, Michael Brandon Dean (Tina) of Blackshear, Wendy L. Mullis of Hortense, Theron Douglas Mullis, Jr. (Belinda) of Blackshear, Jade Mullis Jacobs (Tony) of Brantley County, and Summer Mullis Dixon (Kevin) of Brantley County; 27 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren; three brothers, Rev. Marien Mullis (Zee) of Waycross , Stanton Mullis (Faye) of Jesup, and Gary Mullis (Dianne) of St. Augustine, FL; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held 2 p.m. Saturday (August 29, 2015) at his son’s home, Doug, 6898 Clark Rd., Blackshear, GA 31516, with Rev. Joe King officiating.
