Cochran-Empire – Syble Mullis Dixon, age 85, died Tuesday at her residence. Funeral services will be held Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Mathis Funeral Home. Burial will be in Bowers Cemetery.
Mrs. Dixon, a wonderful mother and grandmother, was born in Bleckley County and had lived most of her life in Empire. She was the daughter of the late Matthew and Lucia Pettis Mullis and the wife of the late Tom Dixon. She was retired from L&H Shirt Company and was a member of New Hope Freewill Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughters, Judy Fleshman and Sundra Paugh of Empire, Gayle (Junior) Dunn of Warner Robins and Robyn (Donald) Crumpler of Hazlehurst; her sister, Rose Little of Cochran; eleven grandchildren and fourteen great grandchildren.
The family is at 155 Freewill Church Road, Empire and will greet friends from 7:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. Friday at Mathis Funeral Home.
