Sturgeon Bay man gets 70-year sentence for sexual assault

September 4, 2009

A Sturgeon Bay man was sentenced Thursday to 70 years in prison for drugging a 16-year-old and photographing himself sexually assaulting the unconscious boy.

Theodore Mullis, 38, could have received more than 1,000 years behind bars for the 40 felonies he faced, including two counts of second-degree sexual assault, 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child and three counts of possession of child pornography. Twenty-four other counts of possession of child pornography and causing a child to view sexual activity were dismissed but read in to the record for sentencing.

He took the boy on Oct. 26 to his North Hudson Avenue home, gave him a beverage, showed him pornographic Web sites and child pornography and encouraged the boy to get undressed, the boy told authorities.
