Rushing, Eula Mullis


Mrs. Eula Mullis Rushing, 96, of Monroe died Saturday, May 15, 2010 at the Mill House.

Born August 17, 1913 in Union County, she was the daughter of the late Daniel Montgomery Mullis and Archie Manora Griffin Mullis.

Funeral is 4 p.m. Sunday, May 16, 2010 at Shiloh Truelight Church, Mint Hill, where she was a lifelong member. Viewing at 3:30 p.m. Visitation with the family will follow immediately after the service. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Survivors are her daughters, Miriam and Max Tarleton of Monroe, Nancy and Mick Simpson of Indian Trail; her sons, Mac Rushing of Monroe and Dan Rushing of Charlotte; her sisters, Margaret Hill of Monroe, Audie of Norfolk, Va.; her brothers, Melvin Mullis of Monroe, Wallace Mullis of Morehead City; 11 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and 6 great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband, James Oscar Rushing, her son, James Arrius Rushing, her sisters, Juanita Mullis, Myrtle Hyatt, Leslie Griffin, Dorothy McGee, Ruth Howie, brothers, Robert Mullis and Harold Mullis.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Shiloh Truelight Church, 8614 Truelight Church Road, Charlotte, NC 28227.

Shiloh Burial Association is in charge of the funeral arrangements.
