Grover Alexander Mullis “Noody”, of Charlotte, died September 17, 2014 at Myrtle Beach Manor in Myrtle Beach, SC.
He was born August 27, 1939 in Charlotte, NC to the late Grover Jackson Mullis and Maude Hice Mullis. Mr. Mullis graduated from Central High School in 1958 and was immediately drafted by the Washington Senators as a pitcher for AAA baseball. Noody was the owner of AL Express in Charlotte. He was an avid golfer and member at Raintree Country Club and was also very active in the Charlotte Optimist Club.
Mr. Mullis is survived by his wife, Delores Martin Jordan- Mullis and their daughter, Denise Masci; sons, Kerry Mullis, Michael Jordan, and Jay Jordan; sister, Wanda Jordan; brother, Joe Mullis; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held for Mr. Mullis 2:00 p.m. Tuesday September 23, 2014 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, 9000 Mt. Holly Rd., Charlotte, NC with Pastor Jon Hall officiating. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. prior to the service. Interment will be held at Evergreen Cemetery. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to Oak Grove Baptist Church.
