Rachel Funderburk Mullis

Rachel Funderburk Mullis, 31, of Rock Hill, passed away September 3, 2013, at CMC Pineville.

Rachel was born in Charlotte, NC, to Bennett R. “Benny” Funderburk, III and Elisa F. Funderburk. Rachel will be greatly missed by her family. She will be remembered most for her infectious smile and outgoing personality. She was a free spirit who was fiercely independent; also an excellent cook and loved nature. Her favorite Bible verse was Jeremiah 29:11.

She is preceded in death by her grandparents, Rev. Bully Faulkenberry, Bennett “Bugs” Funderburk II, and Betty Collins Funderburk; uncle, Ricky Faulkenberry; and cousin and friend, Chad Faulkenberry.
Survivors include her husband, Sean Mullis; daughter, Kona Mullis; parents, Benny and Lisa Funderburk; sisters, Christy (Chris) Crowder and Jennifer Funderburk; grandmother, Marian Faulkenberry; and two nephews, Avery and Gavin Crowder.

Memorial services will be Friday, 11 am at West End Baptist Church, 1727 McConnell’s Highway, Rock Hill, with Rev. Jerry Devinney officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. A private burial will be held at a later date in Kershaw, SC.

Arrangements are with the South Chapel of Greene Funeral Service and Crematorium, Gastonia.
