Pauline Marie Mullis, an 89 year resident of Nevada City, passed away on Aug. 22, 2016. She was 98.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 1:30 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 3, 2016 at Abundant Life Community Church, 10795 Alta St. in Grass Valley.
She was born on June 16, 1918 in Dalhart, Texas to James and Pearl Frampton Rozynski. She was the second of six children.
Pauline graduated from Nevada City High School in June 1936 and married Bill Mullis Sr. on July 4, 1936 in Nevada City that lasted 57 years, until Bill’s death in 2003.
Pauline co-owned and worked in the Nevada City Home Laundry until 1958. She worked as a clerk at Alpha Hardware for a year and then went to work as a dental assistant for Dr. Walter Mullis until her retirement in 1975.
She was a 50 year member of Neva Rebecca Lodge 119, Oustamah Odd Fellows, Henness Pass Association, and Retired Public Employees Association Chapter 78.
Pauline had a lifelong interest in hunting for antique bottles, fishing, traveling, hunting, gardening, reading and enjoying her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her son Bill Mullis Jr; daughter Carol Kendrick; granddaughters, Vicki (Ken) Lowry, Nancy (Phil) Christiansen and Elizabeth Kendrick; great grandchildren, Hannah, Caleb, Caitlyn, Noah Christiansen, Jacob and Joshua Lowry. She is also survived by her sister Doris Bertram; brother Marvin Rozynski; sister-in-law, Brita Rozynski and Dolores Rozynski.
Pauline was preceded in death by her parents; husband Bill Mullis Sr.; and brothers, Carrol, Duane and Roman Rozynski.
Donations may be made to Abundant Life Community Church or Hospice of the Foothills.
Arrangements are under the care of Hooper and Weaver Mortuary.
