Ms. Debra Lynn Oglesby, age 59, died Sunday at the Candler Hospital in Savannah. The Macon, Georgia native lived in Statesboro for several years and had recently moved to Claxton. She was a member of the First Assembly of God in Statesboro. Ms. Oglesby was preceded in death by her parents, James Leonard and Ellen Mullis McCorkle.
She was a very mothering and caring person to everyone she knew.
Surviving are five sisters and two brothers-in-law, Joan and Reginald Boyd of Claxton, Sherry Funderburke of Statesboro, Donna Williams of Greenville, SC, Janice and Keith Cox of Douglasville, Ga and Ann Painter of North Georgia. Many nieces and nephews also survive.
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00am until 11:00am at the First Assembly of God in Statesboro.
Funeral services will follow at 11:00am with Mike Oglesby officiating.
Interment will be in the Bulloch Memorial Gardens.
The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society, 515 Denmark, St. Statesboro, Ga. 30458.
