Bobby Lee Mullis, Sr.


Mr. Mullis, 80, of Charlotte, passed away Monday, April 6, 2009. He was born March 16, 1929 in Chesterfield, SC to the late Manaway Mack and Ester Threat Mullis.


Funeral Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 9, 2009 at Heritage Funeral Home, 4431 Old Monroe Rd., Indian Trail, NC 28079. Burial will follow at Waxhaw City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m., Wednesday, April 8 at the funeral home.


Mr. Mullis was in management with Butler Seafood for over 30 years. He was a Korean War veteran and a member of VFW Post 9488 in Charlotte. His interests were many, including bird watching and cooking. He loved nature and was very active with the Charlotte Youth Athletic Association. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and friend and will be missed by all who knew him.


Bobby was preceded in death by his wife of 32 years, Evelyn Elizabeth Gamble Mullis; by two brothers, J.B. and Max Mullis; and by a sister, Carolyn Mullis. He is survived by two sons, Bobby Lee Mullis, Jr. and wife Lynda of Palm Coast, FL and Thomas Mack Mullis and wife Kellie of Charlotte. He is also survived by two grandchildren, Eric and Shannon Mullis of Palm Coast, FL.
