Mullis, Ronald Lee

a8440caa-3606-4187-85d5-a5d9ece8aa6aMacon, GA- Ronald “Ronnie” Lee Mullis, 54, passed away on Saturday, October 16, 2010 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Funeral services and a celebration of his life will be held on Tuesday, October 19, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. at Greenwood Baptist Church. Burial will be in Middle Georgia Memory Gardens with Rev. Chris Peavy officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, October 18, 2010 from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Those who wish may make donations to the Central Georgia Cancer Center, 1062 Forsyth St., Macon GA 31201 or Greenwood Baptist Church, 3400 Gray Highway, Macon, GA 31211.

Mr. Mullis was born in Douglas, Georgia to the late James Wilbert Mullis. He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandra Mullis and nieces, Monica and Amy and nephew, Chad. Ronnie was retired after nineteen years with the Georgia National Guard as a senior maintenance supervisor. He was a member of Shurlington Baptist Church. Ronnie was a devoted son, daddy, papa, brother and friend. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and NASCAR fan.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the special caregivers, Billy Bradley, Jimmy Bowen, Eric McCoy and his twin sister, Donna Creighton, his daughter, Brandi and his mother, Addie. Also, Dr. Thomas Lowe, Dr. Jonathan Dean, Dr. James Foster, Dr. Linda Hendricks and the staff at the Chemo Center, Hospice Care Options and his nurses, Nelda and Rebecca.

He is survived by his loving family, mother, Addie B. Mullis of Gray, daughter, Brandi Scarborough (Eric McCoy) of Gray, son, Brannon Swygert (Lori) of Aberdeen, NC, sister, Donna Creighton of Macon, three grandchildren, Lexi and Hunter Scarborough and Ella Swygert, niece, Amanda Cleary (Steve) of Register, GA, great nephew, Harrison Cleary and several cousins.
