Sunday, March 21, 2010 — Jerrel “Don” Mullis, 68, of Marshville, formerly of Oakboro, passed away March 18, 2010, at his home.
Born in Union County on Dec. 12, 1941, he was preceded in death by his mother, Emma Fay Thomas Mullis and father, James Bruce Mullis.
He was employed with Yale Security, Wingate and was a member of West Oakboro Baptist Church. He was a member of Gold Wing Road Riders Chapter T2 of Albemarle.
Graveside service will be 4 p.m. Monday, March 22, at Oakboro Cemetery, with the minister Rev. Joe Smith officiating. Visitation will be at the graveside service.
Don Mullis is survived by his companion, Carolyn Carpenter of Marshville; daughter, Teresa Mullis Hurlocker of Oakboro; his son, Jeffery Scott Mullis of Stanly Co.; his grandchildren, Jeremy Scott Mullis, Cody James Mullis, Jeffery Dwight Mullis; four great-grandchildren; sisters, Helen Marie Smith and Hazel Mullis Smith; and brother, James Sherrill Mullis.
The family will meet at the home.
