James Thomas Mullis. Last rites for James Thomas Mullis, 83, of 105 West Columbia Street, will be held Wednesday morning at 11 o’clock in the Chapel of
Townsend Funeral Home with the Rev. W. A. Page officiating. Burial will be in Northview Cemetery and Townsend Funeral Home will direct the services. Grandsons will serve as pallbearers and the family will receive their friends Tuesday night from seven until
nine p.m. at Townsend’s Funeral Home. Mr. Mullis was a native of Dodge County but had lived in Laurens County for most of his life. He was the son of the late
David and Sarah Coleman Mullis, a retired farmer and carpenter and member of the Baptist denomination.
Mr. Mullis died Sunday afternoon in a local hospital after an extended illness. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Mamie Crabb Mullis, of Dublin; one son, A. D.
Mullis, Gainsville, Fla., two daughters, Mrs. Nan Devaney, of Dublin, and Mrs. Emma Julia Richard, Fort Wayne, Ind., 16 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
