Mullis, Frances

July 3, 1913 – Feb. 24, 2010 Frances Mullis, 96, of Huntsville died Wednesday in North Carolina.

Mrs. Mullis taught at North Alabama College of Commerce for over 35 years.

Survivors include daughters, Connie Rowden and husband John of Harrisburg, N.C., and Kaye McFarlen and husband Jasper of Huntsville; stepsons, Robert Mullis and wife Joyce of Mooresville, N.C., and Lester Mullis of North Carolina; 10 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at West Huntsville Baptist Church. The funeral service will follow at noon with Scott Gossett officiating.

Burial will be in Huntsville Memory Gardens.

Laughlin Service Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons, Jim McFarlen, Nathan Mullis, John Rowden, Chuck Rowden, Chip Rowden and Kyle Rowden.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the West Huntsville Baptist Church Missions Program.

HARRISBURG – Frances Idela Mullis, 96, of 400 Williams Road, Harrisburg, died Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2010. Mrs. Mullis was born July 3, 1913, in Augusta Ga. the daughter of the late Ellison Dekalb Farmer and Nettie Victoria Owens. She taught at North Alabama College of Commerce for over 35 years. The funeral service will be at noon on Saturday, at West Huntsville Baptist Church, in Huntsville, Ala. Survivors include her daughters, Connie Rowden and husband, John, of Harrisburg and Kaye McFarlen and husband, Jasper, of Huntsville, Ala.; stepsons, Robert Mullis and wife, Joyce, of Mooresville and Lester Mullis, N.C.; 10 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren; and seven great-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are her grandsons, Jim McFarlen, Nathan Mullis, John Rowden, Chuck Rowden, Chip Rowden and Kyle Rowden. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Hospice & Palliative Care.
