Tribute: I loved working with Betty and she did a great job with her students. I taught P.E. @PPMS and one day Betty was lining up her kids at the elevator on the 1st floor. The media specialist called her back to the library because one of the students had left a book. As I turned the corner I sensed that this would be a great practical joke opportunity! So I loaded up her 5 students and we “took a ride”. I went to the 3rd floor, then the 2nd, then back to the 3rd, this went on for about 3 minutes. Meanwhile Betty was franticly running around the 1st floor looking for the kids….somewhat panicked. One of her students commented that “You are a bad man!” Well when we walked out of elevator Betty went off on me and then broke out in laughter. She was great and I send my sympathy to her family and friends. Sincerely Dave Banyasz

Tribute: Betty was a wonderful friend and colleague. We met in the wonder years of Plum Point Middle School and remained friends through thick and thin.
There was a small group of us that originally met at PPMS. As the years went by and Betty, Suzanne and Bonnie went to different schools, we continued to meet on a regular basis to do what we do best, eat and chat. Goodness knows, we were great at that. These times will be missed.
I was excited for Betty when she retired and could return to her beloved Texas with David. I am so sorry they only got to spend six short months together there.
I cannot believe my short little friend with the thick southern accent is gone, but know she is in heaven with our Heavenly Father.
David, Karen and Katherine, my thoughts and prayers are with you.
