He was the owner of C.G. Mullis Landscaping in Fort Mill, S.C., which operated for several years.

He donated his body to science research in order to continue to help others.

There will be a casual farewell service to celebrate his life at his residence, 4700 Blade Run Road, Edgemoor, at 7 p.m. Thursday. Miriam Mick, Serenity Hospice Chaplain, will officiate.

He was preceded in death by parents, Dora Belle and Claire Pink Mullis; brothers, Charles David, Gene Mullis and Marvin Mullis, Bill Mullis and Elam Mullis.

Surviving are his two daughters, Cathy Mullis of Edgemoor and Gayle Mullis of Rock Hill; sisters, Peggy Hudson of Edgemoor, Betty Watkins of Indian Trail, N.C., and Margie Helms of Charlotte.
