Mullis, Carrie Ham

Carrie Ham Mullis, age 78, of Sparta, died Saturday, Nov. 15, 2008 at her home. She was born May 14, 1930 in Ashe County to the late Carl and Lockie Stike. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul Mullis; and a son, John Wayne Mullis. She is survived by five sons and three daughters-in-law, Roger and Marie Mullis of Laurel Springs, David Mullis of Jefferson, Robert and Barbara Mullis, Mason Mullis, all of Sparta and Odel and Rita Taylor of North Wilkesboro; two sisters, Bonnie Parsons and Virginia Parsons, both of Sparta; one brother, Rufus Ham of Glade Creek; 17 grandchildren; 27 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, Nov. 18 at Badger Funeral Home Chapel in West Jefferson with burial in Turner cemetery. The Rev. Lloyd Day, the Rev. J.D. Walton and the Rev.
