Mary Coulsey Mullis

SHERMAN – Mary “Betty” Bess Mitchell Coulsey Mullis passed away on Friday, Dec. 28, 2012 at her home in Sherman. She was born in Sherman to Vern Mitchell and Ella Henderson Mitchell.She was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers: Poolley, John, Henry, Dan and Billy Jack; sister Ruby Faye Mitchell; granddaughter Tonya Lynn King; sisters-in-law: Martha, Cathleen and Dean Mitchell.She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Jim Mullis; sons, Clayton Coulsey and Kevin Mullis and wife Rene; daughters, Connie Case and Cynthia Bumpass and husband Jimmy; grandson, Mason Case; step-grandsons, Austin and Jake Brock and Justin Hostetter; step-granddaughter, Brinley Brown; great-grandsons, Ethan Bain and Thomas Case; special nieces, Margaret Montague and Carolyn Mitchell; several nieces and nephews and friends; and special friends Ashley Reeder and Marianne Case.She was a resident of Sherman most of her life, but she also lived in Goose Creek, Texas, Santa Ana, Calif., Bangor, Maine and Panama City, Fla. She was employed at several places in Sherman and was a certified Ombudsman. She spent many hours visiting residents in nursing homes where she made numerous friends.At her request, she will be cremated and a private family service will be held at a later date.Published in The Herald Democrat on Dec. 30, 2012
