Marjorie Lee (Caldwell) Mullis

Mrs. Marjorie “Cricket” Lee Caldwell Mullis age 93, of Hiawassee, Georgia passed away on February 19, 2017 at Chatuge Regional Nursing Home, Hiawassee, Georgia.

She was born on February 04, 1924 in Jacksonville, Georgia to the late J.H. and Odena (Lee) Caldwell.

Cricket was a member of the Eastern Star lodge #305, and also a member of Zion Methodist Church, now known as Calvary Church in Blairsville. She volunteered at Peace Place in Jefferson and loved thrift stores. Cricket retired from Macon Housing Authority, Macon, GA in 1990 after 16 years of loyal service.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Mullis, son, Sammy Wilson; nephew, Ken Farmer; sisters, Margaret Jones, Jean Farmer, JoAnn Lewis and great grandson Jason Wilson.

Cricket is survived by her brother-in-law and his wife, Winston and Diris Farmer, grandchildren; Dwayne Wilson, Lynn Cromer, Kim Salerno, Janis Glenn, and Shane Wilson, 7 great grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren, niece, Patti Farmer Gresham (who was also her caregiver), her best friend, June Duvall and many nieces , nephews and friends also survive.

Visitation: Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Banister Funeral Home from 1:00 – 2:00 PM

Service: Tuesday, February 21, 2017 at Banister Funeral Home at 2:00 PM with Rev. Danny Byers officiating.
Interment: Calvary Church Cemetery, Blairsville, GA
Pallbearers: William Watson, Andrew Watson, Johnathan Watson, Ike Waldroup, Dwayne Wilson and Don Wilson.
Banister Funeral Home of Hiawassee, Georgia in charge of arrangements.
