James Randolph Mullis, Sr. age 77 passed away Saturday, May 14, 2016. Services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday at the chapel of Moores Funeral Home with David Smith officiating. Private burial will follow at McIntyre Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mr. Mullis was a native of Laurens County but had made his home in Milledgeville. He worked with McGaw Laboratories and later owned and operated J.R. Auto Sales. He was preceded in death by his parents Walter and Addie Myers Mullis and a granddaughter Shannon Dawn Smith. Mr. Mullis was a veteran of the United States Air Force and a was member of Sinclair Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife Virginia S. Mullis of Milledgeville, a son Randy Mullis (Virginia) of Lizella, a daughter Beth McCoy Leggat (Mike) of Milledgeville, three brothers, John Mullis (Brenda) of Dublin, Tommy Mullis and Donnie Mullis (Peggy) of E. Dublin, a sister-in-law Helen Smith of McIntyre, 4 grandchildren: Joni Dawson (Chad), Megan Frazier (A.J.), Ginny Smith and Tyler Mullis, and 7 great grandchildren also survive.
The family will receive friends Wednesday from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Moores Funeral Home.
