James Brooks Mullis

James Brooks Mullis, 83, of Lincoln County, died Aug. 10, 2005.

Funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. today at Beth Haven Baptist Church in Denver. The family will hold a private burial. The family will receive friends from 12:30 – 2 p.m. prior to the service.

A native of Union County, he was a veteran of WW II, serving in the U.S. Marine Corp. He was with the Second Marine division in the South Pacific, was wounded on the island of Saipan and was awarded the Purple Heart.

Survivors include his wife, Kathleen; a daughter, Jatana Bremer; a son, Donald Mullis; five sisters, a niece and nephew who were raised as siblings; and seven grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
