Parker N. Mullis, Sr., 93, of Jesup, Georgia died Tuesday, March 29, 2016 in Wayne Memorial Hospital after a short illness. The Eastman, Georgia native lived in Wayne County, Georgia most of his adult life and was a Christian. He was retired from the Department of Transportation and enjoyed hunting, fishing and being a “Granddaddy”. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran having served in the South Pacific during WWII and a member of Eastman Masonic Lodge 279.
Survivors are his wife of 70 years, Doretha Rowell Mullis of Jesup; daughter, Phyllis Mullis of Stone Mountain; sons, Parker N. Mullis, Jr. of Jesup, William Henry “Bill” (Tonya) Mullis of Brunswick and Ken (Christy) Mullis of Valdosta; brothers, J. D. Mullis and Bryce Mullis of Eastman; 12 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 2, 2016, at New Union Baptist Church, 1112 Union Church Road, Eastman, GA 31023.
In lieu of flowers, family requests that memorial donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, P O Box 1000, Department 142, Memphis, TN 38148-0142.
