Cheryl Jean Grantham Mullis, 54 of Screven, Ga. died Friday, April 29, 2016 in St. Joseph’s Hospital in Savannah, Ga.
The Wayne County, Ga. native was a member of O’Quinn Baptist Church and attended Antioch Baptist Church for the past few years. She was a 20 year retired motor pool supervisor with the Georgia Department of Transportation and assisted her husband in several businesses.
She enjoyed being known as “Big Mama” to everyone, a proud wife to her husband and working at Heavenly Acres Arena.
Cheryl was predeceased by her parents, Jimmy and Myrtie Davis Grantham and a Godmother, Pat Brantley.
Survivors are her husband of 22 years, Ronnie E. Mullis of Screven, Ga.; sons, Warnell “Carlis” Brantley, Jr., Jonathan D. Brantley, both of Jesup, Ga.; a stepdaughters, Crissie and Justin Bush, Britni and Carey Knighten, both of Screven, Ga.; grandchildren, Brett Brantley, Bree Brantley, Kinsley Baxter, Cassidy Baxter, Austin Landon, Mayleigh Bush, Waylon Bush, Mia Zeagler, Kamden Knighten; a sister, Windy and Rob Lavigne of Wisconsin; brothers, Charles “Chuck” and Valley Miller of Odum, Ga., John Sahle of Florida, Jimmy Grantham of Screven, Ga.; several nieces and nephews; special family friends, Serigo, Pat, Lolita and Hosea.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Monday, May 2, 2016 at O’Quinn Baptist Church with Rev. Donnie Mullis, Rev. R.B. Gaskins and Rev. Gerald Greenlee officiating. Interment will be in the O’Quinn Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be, Jamie Reddish, Tommy Reddish, Victor Brantley, Derrick Sinclair, Mackey McReady, Mike Beard, Michael Thornton and Michael Mullis.
Visitation will be 4 to 6 P.M. Sunday, May 1, 2016 at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, Cheryl requested donations be made to Heavenly Acres Children’s Christmas Fund, c/o Heavenly Acres Arena, 4761 Georgia Hwy. 203, Screven, Ga. 31560.
