WINSTON SALEM — Mr. Kenneth Lane Hester, 66, of Joyce Drive, died Saturday at Forsyth Medical Center.
A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, February 3 at Oak Forest United Methodist Church, by Rev. Jacqueline Tookey and Rev. James “Chip” Webb. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday at Davidson Funeral Home-Hickory Tree Chapel and other times at the home.
Mr. Hester was born August 6, 1943 in Guilford County to Samuel and Florida Crutchfield Hester. He was the owner and operator of Hester’s in Winston Salem and a member of Oak Forest United Methodist Church. Mr. Hester was a veteran of the US Army. His parents, his brother, Marvin Hester; his sisters, Louise Williams and Lena O’Connor; and a nephew, Larry Williams, preceded him in death.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Mullis Hester, of the home; his daughters, Lori Hester and friend, Rodney Hoots, of Yadkinville, Karen Wall and husband, Chris, of Lexington, and Susan Hester of Wallburg; his grandchildren, Zachary Wall and Alex Wall; his nephews, O’Neil Williams, Jerry Williams, Mike Williams, Rick Williams, Marvin Williams and Kenny Williams; his special nephew, Charles “Chuck” O’Connor; and his nieces, Debra McCannon, and Donna Brinsfield.
