Helen Seay Mullis of Taylors, SC, widow of George G. Mullis entered heaven on Sept. 20, 2007.

Born in Spartanburg, SC, on January 22, 1935, she was the youngest child of the late Connie L. Seay, Sr. and Ora Burnett Seay of Boiling Springs, SC.

She was predeceased by brothers Buck, John, Connie (Jr.), Guy, Fred, Marvin, and sisters Ella Wright and Gertrude Wood.

She is survived by her sister Alice Cudd of Spartanburg, SC.

She was the beloved mother of Lou Ann M. Wheeler of Chesnee, SC, Donna M. Tackett (and husband Ronnie) of Taylors, SC, and George C. Mullis (and wife Lisa) of Greer, SC.

She was Granny extraordinaire of Ben, Katie, Emily, Ryan, Meagan, Samantha, Andrea, George-Anna, and her great-grandchildren Kai, Karalina, and Anna.

Her ambition was to be a good Mother and Granny. She fulfilled that desire in a magnificent and outstanding way. She loved her family with all her heart and in return they loved her just as much. Her children and grandchildren have been blessed beyond measure with memories of her strength of character, her work ethics, her cooking skills, her unselfish spirit, her ability to soothe hurting hearts, her sense of humor, her kindness, her understanding, her love and deep devotion to her family.

She was an avid Clemson Tiger Football Fan and dearly loved her Clemson Tigers!

She was employed at The Greenville County School District Office for 26 years. She retired from the School District and continued to substitute at the District Office and several area schools. She returned to work full-time in 2003 until her illness in December 2006. She loved her job and her co-workers. Over the years she made many friends and will be greatly missed by her co-workers.

We are extremely grateful for the special care she received from caregivers Donna Lamb and Andrea Slack, RN.

She was a member of Mt. Creek Baptist Church in Greenville, SC.
