Federle, Ruth Mullis

Richmond Hill – Ruth Mullis Federle, 75, died Sunday, Jan. 27 at her home.

The Savannah native had lived in Richmond Hill for the past 24 years. She was a graduate of Savannah High School and Armstrong Junior College. While at Armstrong she sang in the Radio Club and with the Armstrong Band and was crowned Queen of the Harvest Ball in 1946.

She was a member of the Delta Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi. She was a member of Richmond Hill United Methodist Church and the Rainbow Girls. For many years she has been active in the crafts production for the annual Richmond Hill Bar-B-Que.

She was predeceased by her parents, William E. “Buster” Mullis, Sr. and Belle Mullis and her brother, William E. Mullis, Jr. Survivors: husband, Col. Gordon I. Federle, USAF (Ret.) of Richmond Hill; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law including Betty B. Mullis of Savannah; nieces and nephew, Dale Mullis Reardon, Ruth Mullis Smoak and Billy Mullis and several great-nieces and nephews.

Visitation: 6:00-8:00 p. m. Monday, Jan. 28 at Fox & Weeks Funeral Directors, Hodgson Chapel. Graveside Service: 2:30 p. m. Tuesday, Jan. 29 in the Greenwich Section of Bonaventure Cemetery.
