Earlene Thornton Mullis, 86 of Odum, Ga. died Sunday, January 4, 2015 at her daughter’s residence in Fountain Inn, SC after an extended illness.
The Wayne County native was a member of Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church and a homemaker. She enjoyed quilting, gardening and bowling.
She was predeceased by her husband, Forrest E. Mullis and two sons, Bruce and Rex Mullis.
Survivors are two daughters and sons-in-law, Sheri and Eddie Manning of Fountain Inn, SC, Charlene and Randy Kight of Hilliard, Fla.; a son and daughter-in-law, Charles and Cathy Mullis of Jacksonville, Fla.; two sisters and a brother-in-law, Geraldene Smith of Central, SC, Novadene and Glenn Kicklighter of Odum, Ga.; a brother and sister-in-law, Clarence and Mildred Thornton of Garden City, Ga.; 11 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 11 A.M. Tuesday, January 6, 2015 at Big Creek Primitive Baptist Church, Big Creek Church Road, Screven, Ga. 31560 with Rev. Charles Mullis, Rev. Charles Mullis, Jr. and Elder Alvin Johnson officiating. Interment will be in the Big Creek Cemetery. Active pallbearers will be her family.
Visitation will be 10 to 11 A.M. prior to services at the church.
