Diras Knight Mullis, 90, of Valdosta, and formally of Savannah, passed away on Sept. 30, 2014, at the South Georgia Medical Center.
She was born in Laurens County, Ga., and moved to Savannah, GA in 1951.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William Blanton Mullis, and two brothers, William P. and Kenneth M. Knight, and her parents, William Menzo Knight and Lou Ola Lavendar.
She was retired from Union Camp Paper Company, and was a Baptist. She was known for her Peanut Butter Cake, and she had a special love for children.
They all called her sister. She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend, who never met a stranger.
She is survived by two sons and daughters in law, Tommy & Janice Mullis, and Donald and Beverly Mullis, four sisters, Grace Rich (Lou) of Milton, Fla; Edith Shiver , Savannah, GA; Pat Davis, Augusta, GA, and Lanell Rich (John) Warner Robins, Ga., 6 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation: 12 – 1:15 p.m. Friday at Fairhaven Funeral Home, Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Funeral Services: 1:30 p.m. Friday in the Hubert C. Baker Chapel. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Memory Gardens.
