Denise Annette Mullis Broome

INDIAN LAND – Mrs. Denise Annette Mullis Broome, 53, lost her fight with cancer at her home on Tuesday, Nov. 22, 2011. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

The funeral will be 12:30 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 26, 2011, at Independent Bible Baptist Church, 17025 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, N.C., with Dr. Jason Coley officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Born in Monroe, N.C., Mrs. Broome was a daughter of the late Benjamin Clifford Mullis and the late Deanna Elizabeth Thomas Mullis. She was a member of Independent Bible Baptist Church and was employed with Bi Lo in Pineville, N.C. She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother.

Surviving are her husband, Jamie Broome; her son, Dwayne Mullis and wife, Casey, of Indian Land, S.C.; her daughter, Rachel Broome of Indian Land; her brother, Ben Mullis of Fort Mill, S.C.; two sisters, Mary Rodriguez of Shelby, N.C., and Sherry Reed of Catawba, S.C.; and two grandchildren, Mason and Camden Mullis. She was preceded in death by a brother, Mike Mullis, and a sister, Debbie Rabon.

The family will receive friends 11 a.m. to noon Saturday at the church.

Memorials may be made in Mrs. Broome’s name to Independence Bible Baptist Church, 17025 Lancaster Highway, Charlotte, NC 28277.

Greene Funeral Home Northwest Chapel is assisting the Broome family.
