Birth:
Sarah Ann, the daughter of Reuben and Nancy MULLIS was born near Mineral, Indiana, September 28, 1841, and departed this life January 3, 1931, at the age of eighty-nine years, three months and five days.
She was converted and united with the Mineral M. E. church at an early age and during her long life lived a faithful Christian. When but fifteen years of age she, with four sisters and five brothers, were left orphans by the death of their father. All have preceded her in death except Mrs. Malissa HASLER, of Mineral.
On August 10, 1865, she was united in marriage to James CHANEY, who preceded her in death over nine years ago. To this union five children were born—three sons and two daughters. Two of the sons died in infancy. She leaves to mourn her departure, Mrs. Stella CLEMENS, of Jasonville; Milford CHANEY, of Bloomfield, and Mrs. Delia SCHRANTZ, of Sunnyside, Washington; fourteen grandchildren, twenty-nine great grandchildren, besides many other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held at the M. E. church at Mineral Monday, January 5, in charge of Rev. H. A. BAILIFF. Interment was in Mt. Zion Cemetery, near that place.
