She was born December 5, 1938 in Indianapolis, Indiana the daughter of William D. and Catherine Genevieve (Lee) Ross.
Barbara was an alumnus of the first graduating class of Scecina Memorial High School: Class of 1957.
She then married Richard E. Mullis of Indianapolis on June 28, 1958. Barbara and Richard “Dick” welcomed four children and raised them on the East side of Indianapolis: Lourdes and Little Flower Parish’s. Dick lost his battle to lung cancer on April 22, 1977.
Upon Dick’s death, Barbara embraced her growing family and thrived on watching her grandchildren grow. Later in life, Barbara married John J. White, who preceded her in death.
She is survived by her four children, Deborah Burks, Marla Watson, Danielle Abbott and Ross Mullis; brother, Dan Ross; sister, Marydel Moran; nine grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be Saturday, September 20 at 10:30 a.m. at Feeney-Hornak Shadeland Mortuary followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Little Flower Catholic Church at 11 a.m. Entombment will be in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 19 from 3 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
