Sunday, May 10, 2009 — Bobby Lane Holt, 80, of Oakboro died at 8:35 p.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2009, in Forrest Oakes Healthcare Center.
His funeral will be at 2 p.m. Sunday with a 30-minute state in First Baptist Church of Oakboro, where he was a member Dr. Terrell Watts will officiate and entombment will be in Stanly Gardens of Memory Mausoleum.
Born June 19, 1928, in Montgomery County, he was a son of the late Carl Henry and Agnes Hardister Holt and was a machinist. Before retiring from Metal Forge he worked for the City of Albemarle and the State of North Carolina. He was a U .S. Air Force veteran.
He is survived by his wife, Margaret Mullis Holt of Oakboro; a son, Bryan Lane Holt of Salisbury; two stepsons, Dennis Huneycutt of Knoxville, Tenn., and Ricky Huneycutt of Oakboro; and two grandchildren, Phillip Brady Holt and Bradley Lane Holt. A daughter, Lisa Elaine Holt, preceded him in death.
The family received friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday at Hartsell Funeral Home in Albemarle.
