WINCHESTER, Va. — James L. Bolin Sr., 71, of Senseney Road, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007, at his residence.
Mr. Bolin was born Oct. 9, 1936 in Lancaster County, S.C., to William David Bolin Sr. and Hattie McDaniel Bolin. He retired as an over the road truck driver for PIE Nationwide, Expedited Services, Inc., and Western Express trucking companies, where he received numerous safety awards over 45 years of driving. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1956 and was a past member of fraternal Order of Eagles Arie 824. He was married to Catherine L. Keeler Oct. 14, 2000 at Winchester, Va.
Surviving are his wife, Catherine L. Bolin of Winchester; two daughters, Donna Hedden of Rockwell, N.C., and Duchess Bolin of Winchester; seven sons, James L. Bolin Jr. of Rockwell, N.C., David Michael Bolin of Salisbury, N.C., Keith Dawe, Timothy Dawe and Thomas Dawe, all of Winchester, Gene Keeler of Berryville and Duke Bolin of Winchester; four sisters, Dorothy Mullis, Betty Ervin, Ola Pettus and Juanita Shaw, all of Fort Mill, S.C.; 15 grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Laura Haynes; two sisters , Rebecca B. Yarborough and Jo Anne B. Rakes; and three brothers, William David Bolin Jr., Richard “Gene” Bolin and Stanley L. “Lindy” Bolin.
A memorial service is planned for the near future.
